Skoda Auto Volkswagen India marks 50,000 Kylaq production in 1 year

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has crossed the 50,000-unit production milestone for the Skoda Kylaq. The Kylaq has been a key contributor for the Group’s 36% growth (YOY) in 2025. The Group has achieved this by enhancing the scale of its India operations and increasing localisation levels.

While gracing the milestone celebration event, H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Cabinet Minister of Heavy Industries and Minister of Steel, said, “I congratulate Skoda Auto Volkswagen India on achieving this production milestone and for their continued commitment to the ‘Made in India’ initiative.”

To accommodate the Kylaq, SAVWIPL has increased production capacity by 30 percent at the Chakan plant, while simultaneously strengthening engagement with domestic suppliers to achieve higher levels of localisation. This initiative is part of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s broader push to support the nation’s Make in India agenda, underscoring the Group’s efforts to deepen local engineering expertise and sourcing strength.
